Soderling Wins Paris Masters

Robin Soderling (SWE) defeated Gael Monfils (FRA) 6-1, 7-6 to claim the first Masters title of his career.  Monfils made back-to-back finals at his hometown event.  For the Swede, it is his 2nd title of the year and 6th of his career.  Soderling becomes the 15th active player to own a Masters title.  The others-

Soderling also passes Murray for #4 in the rankings and now puts himself within striking distance of Djokovic for #3.

In addition, the field for London was set when Andy Roddick made the quarterfinals in Bercy.
