The women's field also set their quarterfinals on Monday, and here are those eight ladies:
2) Caroline Wozniacki (DEN): defeated 22) Pavlyuchenkova, 2 and 2; The world #2 keeps on winning;
3) Venus Williams (USA): defeated 19) Hantuchova, 6-4 in the 3rd; Venus hasn't lost in ages;
6) Agnieszka Radwanska (POL): defeated Shvedova, 1 and 4; Back to back quarterfinals for Aggie;
9) Samantha Stosur (AUS): defeated 7) Jankovic, 6-1, 7-6(9); Stosur gets revenge for IW semi;
12) Yanina Wickmayer (BEL): defeated Bacsinszky, 1 and 0; The Belgians march on;
13) Marion Bartoli (FRA): defeated 1) Kuznetsova, 3 and 0; Kuzzy now has shoulder pain and **Fails to defend semi**;
14) Kim Clijsters (BEL): defeated 4) Azarenka, 4 and 0; **Vika fails to defend title** and the Belgians march on;
Justine Henin (BEL): defeated 11) Zvonareva, 1 and 4; Good run for Vera and the Belgians march on;
Just three of last year's quarterfinalists are still here, and Stosur and Wozniacki have successfully defended. Venus needs one more win. These quarterfinalists are a little different from 2 weeks ago at Indian Wells, though Wozniacki, Radwanska, and Stosur remain. All three Belgians are still alive compared to 0 at IW, then we have a suprise in Bartoli and a stalwart in Venus.
Quarterfinal matchups for Tuesday and Wednesday:
-Wickmayer vs Bartoli
-V.Williams vs Radwanska
-Stosur vs Clijsters
-Wozniacki vs Henin
