I finally got around to compiling some stats from the French Open and Wimbledon so here's a bit of what I found. After the US Open I'll put together the Slam Summary for 2010 similar to what I already have posted here for 2009 (see links at right).
I'll begin with the men. We know the Rafael Nadal has won two majors and Roger Federer the other. But some other players have put in quite good performances, including Murray and Djokovic who seem to be taking a lot of heat for not actually winning a slam. But I'll argue here that aside from Federer and Nadal they are most consisent players at majors. Also Tsonga has quietly put together a nice slam season and it is a shame he'll miss the US Open. Also I was surprised to see that Hewitt has done quite well this year.

Now on to the women. Serena has pretty much dominated, winning two slams, while a surprise from Francesca Schiavone added to the fun. It's a large gap between Serena and the others but few players have managed consistent results at the slams: Wozniacki, Li, Petrova, and Venus come to mind.
Wins
Serena - 18
Venus and Li - 11
Jankovic, Petrova, Wozniacki, and Zvonareva - 10
Henin, Schiavone and Stosur - 9
Bartoli, Alona Bondarenko, and Kirilenko - 7

That can wet your appetite until the full list is unveiling probably sometime in September or October. Please comment if you have anything to say about these lists or something similar you'd like to see.
