Fed Cup Wrap Up

Japan cremed Argentina (playing without Dulko) in the postponed World Group II Playoff tie, losing just 12 total games.  This concludes Fed Cup for 2011 with except of the final to be played in Moscow between Russia and Czech Republic at the end of the season.  So here are the groupings for the 2012 Fed Cup.  * indicates country was promoted in 2011, ^ indicates country was relegated in 2011, neither means they competed at that level.

The draw for the World Groups was performed after the completion of the JPN/ARG tie and came out as follows:

It is hard to say exactly which ties will be can't miss ties this far away but it already looks like a few good ones are in store, particularly BEL/SRB and CZE/GER.  Azarenka also will be at the USA which may or may not include the Williams sisters as this will be an Olympic year.
