WTA by Birth Year - Year End 2012

The WTA Top 10 by Birth Year page has been updated to the year end rankings of 2012.  I may do a comparison post between 2011 and 2012 year end rankings, but that is for another day.  It looks like the next generation of top 100 women may be upon us as 25 of the top 100 were born in '90 or '91 primarily at the expense of those born in the early to mid-80's.  There are only 28 women in the entire WTA rankings (1200 women strong) born in '81 or earlier.  This includes the Williams sisters, Schiavone, Date-Krumm, etc.

Here is the breakdown of players in the WTA top 100 by birth year:

- 1
- 2
- 2
- 7
- 4
- 6
- 8
- 9
- 11
- 8
- 7
- 14
- 11
- 4
- 4
- 2

I have a couple comments about those numbers on the Top 10 by Birth Year page, but feel free to draw your own conclusions and comment if you want.  Here are the 10 players that entered or left the top 100 since the week after the US Open, which was the last time I ran these stats.
