Champions: Atlanta, Hamburg, Bad Gastein, and Portoroz

Another week of unpredictable tournaments taking place around the world.  In Hamburg, an ATP 500 series event, just one seed of 16 made the semifinals, and Andrey Golubev became the first Kazakh to win an ATP title.  He defeated 3) Jurgen Melzer 6-3, 7-5.  Golubev's ranking of 82 will drastically improve.

In an All-American final, 6) Mardy Fish (USA) def. 2) John Isner (USA) 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) to win back-to-back tournaments and his 5th in his career.  Fish knocked off the top 2 Americans (Roddick and Isner) to win the title while also beating Taylor Dent.

On the ladies' side, who would have guessed that the German to win a title in 2010 would be Julia Goerges.  She wins her first career WTA title in Bad Gastein by winning two matches in one day, first beating Alize Cornet (FRA) in the semis, then toppling 2) Timea Bacsinszky (SUI) (#65 over #52) 6-1, 6-4.

Then in Portoroz, could this mean a revival of Anna Chakvetadze's career.  The former world no. 7 (now ranked 103) won her 8th career title by defeating #84 Johanna Larsson (SWE) 6-1, 6-2.  However, Chakvetadze beat 3 seeded players on her way to the final, beating Sara Errani, Vera Dushevina, and Polona Hercog in the 2nd round, quarters, and semis, respectively.
