Some interesting results those. Clijsters was ranked higher than Zvonareva on every occasion. Clijsters leads in matches 5-2, however Zvonareva has won both matches since Kim un-retired. Clijsters leads 10-7 in sets. On hard courts, Clijsters leads 3-1, 7-5 in sets, and every match has gone 3 sets. Really all their matches have been close. It should be a good one Saturday night!
The semifinal results:
7) Vera Zvonareva (RUS) def. 1) Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) 6-4, 6-3
Zvonareva is up to #4 in the world and would pass Wozniacki and Venus for #2 with a win tomorrow. Caroline fails to defend her finals points but will not drop unless Vera wins the title.
2) Kim Clijsters (BEL) def. 3) Venus Williams (USA) 4-6, 7-6, 6-4
Clijsters moves past Schiavone to #7 in the world with the win can obtain #5 with a win tomorrow. Venus will stay #3 only with a Clijsters win while Jankovic will drop to #6 with a Clijsters win.
