The eighth Masters 1000 event of the ATP tour is this week in Shanghai. All the top 10 players are here (or at least were here as Verdasco has already lost) so it should be a good week of tennis.
-Nikolay Davydenko is the defending champion, having defeated Rafael Nadal in last year's final.
-Feliciano Lopez and Novak Djokovic were the 2009 semifinalists (Lopez just lost to Tsonga.)
-Ljubicic, Soderling, Stepanek, and Simon were the losing quarterfinalists. This is an important tournament ranking wise for those guys (Robin excepted).
Potential quarterfinals:
1) Nadal vs 6) Davydenko
4) Murray vs 8) Youzhny
3) Federer vs 5) Soderling
2) Djokovic vs 7) Berdych
The women have tournament is Linz and Osaka but very few top players are in action.
